Portal level luffing boom crane Structural Analysis

Structural design of a new portal level luffing boom crane 'MARK-36' for KONECRANES Ukraine. The "MARK 25" was taken as the prototype with changed Safe Working Load and outreach parameters. The design and report had been done using FEM 1.001.
The FEM Analysis checking of wheel forces, static strength, fatigue, buckling were carried out and based on the obtained results the necessary reinforcement proposal were done.

Structural analysis for the Quay Crane modification project that was being done by KONECRANES Ukraine, had been done.
During modification the crane outreach was going to be increased so the FEM analysis has been used to check of wheel forces on quay rail, structure static strength, fatigue, buckling according to FEM 1.001.

Based on the information, obtained from the analysis, the necessary reinforcement and the crane capacity reduction for the maximal outreach were proposed.
